Happy Birthday Mom

Every year for the past five years during the last week of January my heart aches a little, rejoices a little and yearns for my mothers voice, humor and most of all... love. It has been five years ago that my sister's, brother and I lost our mother on April 3, 2005.

Born Patricia Maxine Cowan on January 26, 1933 in French Camp California. She married her high school sweetheart Carl Monroe Edmonds during her late teens. She was a warm, loving, comforting and more times than not a very humorous and funny woman who lived her life for her husband and children. Her second loves were Elvis, John Wayne and the San Francisco 49er's.

Efficiency For A New Year

On the eve of every new year people all over the world make their resolutions for the coming year. We make these resolutions with good intentions in mind, however those resolutions are usually broken the first or second week of the new year. I know, because I was one of those millions of people who usually makes some outlandish promise to myself that I know would be hard to commit to. This year I decided to make a commitment that I knew I could not break.

Good Ole' Fashioned Senior Prank

I was having a difficult time sleeping last night so I decided to just get up early (sigh). I went to the kitchen to pour myself a cup of joe and as I opened the cupboard door to reach for my favorite coffee cup, something had caught my eye through the separation in the kitchen curtains.
